AUDITION FOR THE 2022-2023 SEASON
We are excited to announce that auditions for our 2022-2023 Season
will be held May 21 & 22 at Carolina Dance Center!
If you are new to CDF and our Performance Companies, please read this document to learn more about what we do, our mission and what we have to offer your dancer.
As you may have heard, beginning with the 2022-2023 Season, the jazz/contemporary companies will be under the umbrella of Carolina Dance Center! There will be two jazz company options, Carolina Power and Carolina Groove Elite.
The auditions for these companies will be held the same weekend as our ballet and tap companies. The Artistic Directors of both Carolina Dance Foundation and Carolina Dance Center will work closely to coordinate the calendar and other logistics so that all programming works well together for the 2022-23 season.

Dancers will sign up for each company they wish to audition for using this GOOGLE FORM.
After completing the form, please pay for EACH audition your dancer will be attending, www.carolinadancefoundation.org/shop (Cost is $30 per company)
Ages are as of September 1, 2022 unless told otherwise by an artistic director.
Please audition with the age group for the age you will be as of September 1st.

AUDITION TIMES FOR JAZZ/CONTEMPORARY:
*As stated above, you will need to register for jazz/contemporary auditions through
Carolina Dance Center's website. The times listed here are for easy reference.
**Ages for these auditions will be as of January 1, 2023
so that they are inline with competition age requirements.
CGE and Carolina Power — Saturday, May 21
Carolina Power (hip hop option) — Sunday, May 22
Please observe dress code requirements for your auditions:
Ballet: Black leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes, hair in a bun.
Dancers en pointe must bring pointe shoes.
Jazz: Any color sports bra or leotard with booty shorts or leggings,
hair in a bun. No t-shirts, tank tops, skirts, or baggy shorts.
Bring appropriate footwear if desired.
Tap: Please wear comfortable dance wear (no street clothes),
hair pulled back, tap shoes.
THINGS TO CONSIDER BEFORE AUDITIONING: Being a member of the Carolina Dance Foundation Companies is a big commitment, both in time and financially. Before making the decision to audition, please CLICK HERE and read the Overview of Requirements from the 2021-2022 season. **Keep in mind this is from last season when Carolina Groove and CGE were under the foundation. Obviously much of the info will be changing given the restructuring but the overview will still give you a general idea of what's involved. We will be updating this document soon.
Audition results will be posted on Tuesday, May 31, 2022.
Look for an email with a link to the password protected page where results can be viewed.
MANDATORY PARENT MEETING: Parents of dancers who are accepted into the ballet and/or tap companies will need to attend a required parent/dancer meeting. The date for this meeting will be announced soon.
Parents of dancers who are selected for Carolina Power and Carolina Groove Elite will have a mandatory meeting on Wednesday, June 22nd at 7pm. (This will be an in-person meeting with a Zoom option.)
The finalized 2022-2023 contract for Civic Ballet and Carolina Rhythm will be sent by email to accepted dancers prior to the required parent meetings. (Contracts for Carolina Power and Carolina Groove Elite will be sent from the studio.)
