Is the CDC GUEST ARTIST INTENSIVE required for members of Carolina Civic Ballet and Carolina Rhythm? The Carolina Dance Center (CDC) Guest Artist Intensive is an incredible opportunity and is highly recommended but not required for CDF Company Dancers. However, it may be required for certain class levels at CDC. Please see the CDC website for more information on this exciting opportunity.
How many rehearsals is my dancer allowed to miss? Is there a fee for missed rehearsals?Dancers may miss 2 non-dress rehearsals per piece. The absences must not occur within 1 week of a major performance. Poor attendance may result in a choreographer replacing a dancer with an understudy at their sole discretion. All dress rehearsals are required. **Absences for which the Scheduler/Artistic Directors (ADs) are not notified are a huge problem! Therefore, we will now be charging a $50 fee for any missed rehearsal for which the scheduler/artistic directors are not notified at least 24 hours prior to a rehearsal (this does not apply to understudies). As soon as you know you will be absent, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
If my dancer has to miss rehearsal who should we inform? Please EMAIL email@example.com at least 24 hours PRIOR to the scheduled rehearsal if your dancer will be absent. Failure to notify of absence or conflict prior to 24 hours will result in a $50 charge to your dancer's account. Exceptions to the 24-hour policy will be made for emergencies, such as illness or extenuating circumstances (decided on a case-by-case basis), as long as the scheduler and choreographer are notified prior to the rehearsal.
If my dancer is not in Carolina Civic Ballet, are they able to still participate in the Saturday Company class?Saturday Ballet Company classes are required for Carolina Civic Ballet dancers in levels Junior B and above. These classes are optional for Carolina Ballet Junior A level dancers and for Carolina Rhythm dancers. Dancers may participate as long as they fall into an appropriate age and experience level. Please contact the Ballet Artistic Directors to determine which class is appropriate for your dancer.
