OUTREACH

We are so proud of our Outreach programs! Two of our biggest are Joy Club, our Special Needs Dance Class and our Kamryn's Smile Tea Party, (more info below). In addition to these, Carolina Dance Foundation also:

​

  • Coordinates classes for the Raleigh Rescue Mission. 

  • Conducts special needs classes for the community.

  • Currently, we have 6 scholarship students that are loving our program. All 6 are taking classes and will be in recital dances this summer.

  • 50 Outreach tickets were handed out for our holiday show

  • Hosted a "Snacks for Students" food donation drive to benefit Community in Schools of Wake County and a book drive to benefit the Wake Up & Read community coalition supporting literacy in our county.

We can not thank our community enough for their support. These programs require a tremendous amount of volunteers, efforts, and funds.

JOY CLUB

Each week, students from around Wake County come to Carolina Dance Center for Joy Club, a special needs dance class taught by our Artistic Director, Missy Blackburn. Older company dancers assist Missy and partner with the students to perform in our Spring Extravaganza. It's a highlight of the show, cherished by both the audience and the company members who work closely with these inspiring dancers.

KAMRYN'S SMILE TEA PARTY

Each Spring CDF hosts a princess tea party in loving memory of Kamryn Bailey. Kamryn was a beautiful child who loved to dance and who brought smiles to the faces of many. We are proud to continue bringing smiles to others in her honor by hosting this tea party. All the proceeds from the tea party go to the Kamryn’s Smile Fund which was created to bring smiles and dance to underserved local youth.
